Job Responsibilities:
As our Human Resource Manager, you will lead and direct various HR functions while fostering a positive workplace environment. Your key responsibilities include:
- Develops and/or maintains a Human Resource information system that meets Legal Aid's personnel information needs.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures Legal Aid's compliance.
- Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Communicates changes in Legal Aid's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
- Maintains the Employee Handbook, updating as needed including policy development and documentation as it pertains to HR policies.
- Support the Finance Department in the administration of employee benefits and compensation including approval of payroll.
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's Human Resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Serves as the primary administrator of the organization's HRIS including recruiting & onboarding, employee file administration, learning, and performance management modules.
- Provides support and guidance when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes building recruiting pipelines, interviewing, assessing candidates, and making hiring decisions.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
- Proven experience in an HR Generalist position or a related role.
- Strong HRIS administrator experience; Paylocity experience is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a definite plus.
