Position Summary
Human Resource Generalist / Payroll Specialist
UI Health Ventures is seeking a Human Resource Generalist / Payroll Specialist to support our family of companies. The Human Resources Generalist / Payroll Specialist will assist in organizing, managing and executing all aspects of the benefits, wage and salary, compensation, employment, recruitment, and employee relations functions for 50-150 employees. The position also provides input into organizational policies and procedures for employee related needs as well as adherence to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to execute a wide range of Human Resources responsibilities from a collaborative, customer-service oriented perspective.

Position Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Interpret data and provide summary and recommendations.
- Assist in developing and administering programs.
- May suggest, create and be involved with key HR changes in a department.
- May participate in work groups.
- Serve as a change agent in department or unit.
- Analyze, monitor and report financial data, information and reports as it relates to HR.
Advising/ Communication
- Function as the Human Resources consultant within unit/department; seeks guidance from the HR Manager or organization HR leader as needed.
- Interpret and provide solutions to Human Resources issues; research, analyze and make recommendations on Human Resource regulations, practices, policies, procedures, applications and programs.
- Develop and initiate communication on Human Resources related materials.
- May provide training and resources to faculty and staff.
Talent Management & Engagement
- May serve as search administrator, draft supporting documentation, and provide guidance to hiring manager on best practices for recruitment, screening, and onboarding.
- May conduct reference checks and credential verification.
- Implement HR strategies that support an engaged and productive workforce.
- Provide supervisors and employees with performance management tools and resources.
HR Program Administration & Operations
- Assist HR leaders in organization with developing and implementing new programs.
- Analyze effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Respond to questions from employees, supervisors and others that require interpretation.
- Reviews/edits/approves transactions; serves as first point of referral on more complex HR operations/processes to staff.
- Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved.
Compliance with Policies, Laws & Regulations
- Interpret and provide guidance on policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
- May recommend new policies or revision to existing policies.
- Monitors and ensures compliances are met.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum experience is typically two years relevant work experience.
- Basic understanding of state and federal regulations affecting Human Resources.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service for all employee populations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Commitment to and ability to foster diversity, equity and inclusion in the work or academic environment.
Desired Qualifications
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification and/or a commitment to the HR field through training and development.
- Experience with ADP preferred
