Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and lead HSE function in implementing strategic planning and deployment of initiatives.
  • Analyses and communicates HSE performance and compliance levels across U.S. locations.
  • Maintain close contact with and support regional and local managers with the implementation of HSE processes and programs, including the Global HSE Management System.
  • Ensure NOV provides safe and healthy work conditions that comply with health and safety legislation and NOV Global HSE Policy.
  • Participate in or lead accident investigations with the aid of local company supervision, including travel to the accident location when necessary.
  • Conducts risk assessments and create proposals for preventative measures and identifies safe methods of work.
  • Work closely with global and local management teams to approve suitable facilities to carry out company business.
  • Prepare multiple HSE reports for submission to management.
  • Communicate new environmental, occupational safety, and health laws and regulations.
  • Organize, coordinate, and participate in HSE audits and facility inspections.
  • Work with identified groups and other business functions on HSE strategic activities and disseminate organization-wide HSE strategies and HSE improvement programs.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by the manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in HSE Field preferred
  • 3-5 years of hands-on HSE experience in the HSE field
  • Experience with implementation and maintaining ISO 14001 and 45001 standards
  • Behave in a professional and ethical manner in accordance with NOV Corporate Policies
  • Ability to communicate with personnel at all levels within the organization
  • Higher engineering education (MFG focus) and additional certification in HSE, Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Safety or Higher education with a formal HSE qualification preferred
  • Knowledge of Ruling Authority HSE standards and directives
  • Strong problem-solving and influencing skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
  • Strong time management, organization, and planning skills
