Texas Lantana LLC, d.b.a. Nine Mile Training Center® (9MTC®) is a Texas small business that provides a dynamic training environment for law enforcement, military, and security personnel.
PURPOSE:
Under the general direction of the Chief Administrative Officer the HSE Manager is responsible for the development of Health, Safety & Training programs, and objectives, coordinating training programs, and working with assigned operations persons to ensure programs and training are executed in compliance with regulations. In addition, this position will write and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and track to ensure safe operations in the organization. The HSE Manager is responsible for ensuring that employees work in a safe environment. Champion a positive and proactive safety culture alongside the Leadership team. This position will have dotted-line responsibilities to the Corporate Human Resources Manager as it pertains to performance management and Workers’ Compensation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Lead and engage employees in identifying risk, defining their safety responsibilities.
· First point of contact for safety incidents/accidents, drug and alcohol issues.
· Identify hazards, assess risks, implement solutions to prevent injuries and illness from occurring.
· Responsible for Workers’ Compensation/recordkeeping and coordinating with Human Resources department.
· Conduct work-related accidents and incidents investigations. Interview witnesses, review records, inspect equipment or other physical evidence related to the accident or incident. Identify the cause and recommend/complete preventive action against reoccurrence.
· Record injuries or illnesses that occur at work to identify potential hazards or patterns of unsafe behavior. Maintain the OSHA 300 log.
· Ensure employees have proper safety training and are aware of hazards in their work environment. Monitor the wearing of proper PPE.
· Consult with HR and management to develop, implement, maintain, company and regulatory policies and procedures for DOT Drug Testing, FMCSA, OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Ensure they have been documented.
· Write SOPs for HSE programs and procedures.
· Manage safety incentive programs.
· Responsible for maintaining the safety manual, updates, follows regulatory guidelines that are related to our business.
· Manage DOT Drug/FMCSA program.
· Develop and manage emergency response programs.
· Maintain federal, state, and local permits.
· Responsible for maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure prescribed instructions and processes are followed.
· Maintain compliance with fire inspection, fire extinguishers, and other fire related equipment and training.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or High School diploma with 5 to 7 years of Safety Leadership experience in a related industry.
Experience:
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
· Achieved a high-level of understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental Regulations and HSE Management
· FMCSA and DOT Drug Testing development and management
· OSHA 30 preferred
· Safety Data Sheets management
· Bi-lingual Spanish nice to have
LOCATION and TRAVEL:
· Located in San Angelo, Texas with travel to facilities in West, Texas
· Weekly travel with overnight stay at West, Texas facilities
Company vehicle and credit card will be provided for company travel.
GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Workload needs are dynamic, changing from day-to-day and even from hour-to-hour. Environmental factors such as high or low temperatures, noise levels, and poor lighting at times in the buildings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to crawl, crouch, ascend/descend ladders. Hand dexterity. Constantly move around large facilities, lift up to 50 pounds, able to work in extreme hot, humid, and cold environments.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
