Under the direction of the HR Business Partner, the HR Representative is responsible for HR related duties at the professional level and will proactively support HR projects, identifies process improvements, and assists the HR Business Partner with all aspects of HR procedures and policies within the specified guidelines.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Participate in recruitment efforts and career fairs when needed.
  • Help meet or exceed time to fill expectations of 30 business days, beginning at job req approval.
  • Follow all guidelines for Affirmative Action compliance.
  • Manage job postings and the onboard process via the company applicant tracking system.
  • Process internal promotions and job changes.
  • Assist with coordinating the use of temporary employees through a variety of staffing agencies.
    • Assist with the interview process.
  • Oversee new employee orientation and completion of new hire paperwork, including I-9 process.
  • Work with the Manager, Human Resources to address employee concerns, provide advice and methodology for problem solving.
  • Provide advice and assistance to employees on HR topics including general benefit inquiries, payroll and company policies and procedures while monitoring the HR inbox.
  • Assist the Manager, Human Resources with facilitating and maintaining the standard process for Performance Management.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, which include employee files, organizational chart, company directories, and EFW Resource Center.
    • Oversee accurate filing of employee records and candidate files.
  • Manage post-offer background and drug screening.
    • Oversee new hire equipment orders, ID badges, and business cards with hiring managers.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance throughout the company.
  • Help plan and coordinate community outreach and company functions.
  • Assist the Manager, Human Resources with training leaders in a variety of areas including company policy and other legal requirements, hiring, performance management, employee training and development, and dealing with organizational change.
  • Assist with promptly investigating and resolving any allegations or issues; recommend or implement disciplinary actions when such steps are necessary based upon investigation results.
  • Help conduct investigations regarding discrimination and unfair employment practices, including, but not limited to, those involving federal and state agency charges.
  • Facilitate distribution of HR reports.
  • Process and administer all leave of absence requests, disability paperwork; medical, personal, disability, workers compensation and FMLA
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in HR Management or related field plus 3-5 years of HR experience.  However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. 

 

PHR preferred.

 

Periodic travel up to 10% may be required.

 

  • Must possess intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
  • Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization required.
  • Proven ability to handle difficult conversations. Honest, sincere, and consistent in communications.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of and experience in working with government agencies, regulations and laws (FMLA, OFCCP, FLSA, EEOC, DOL, OHSA, NLRB, etc.).
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents.
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.
  • Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts.
  • Ability to present to a group of departments.
  • Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis.
  • Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
