HR Generalist - Malvern, AR
SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist is a key contributor to the efficient day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department. The Generalist is responsible for overseeing several human resources functions including recruitment and on-boarding, benefits administration, employee engagement, and community relations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Acts as a point of contact for employees and responds to a variety of requests by telephone, e-mail, and in-person regarding HR matters as they arise.
  • Assists HR Manager and hiring managers with full cycle recruitment initiatives including development of job descriptions, posting job requisitions, conducting phone screens, administering pre-employment testing, scheduling interviews and conducting background checks, drug screens and pre-employment physicals.
  • Meets one on one with new employees to complete new hire paperwork, to provide orientation and training for policies and benefit plans, and to answer questions.
  • Manages and coordinates benefits and LOA administration (FMLA, STD and LTD). Generates Human Resources correspondence relating to benefits information and leaves of absences.
  • Completes monthly HR reporting on turnover, retention and attendance hours.
  • Plans and coordinates employee events, meetings and internal/external company programs.
  • Supports community relations by participating in local chamber events and college programs.
  • Provides support to various employee processes: staffing, training, evaluations and terminations.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors by providing departmental information on a timely manner ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ensure the HR Department complies with both Federal and Provincial laws regarding employee files, terminations, resignations and policies and procedures.
  • Composes professional Human Resources related letters, documents and communications on behalf of HR Manager and Senior Management.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration and/or Human Resources.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in Human Resources, support management, strategic planning and organizational development.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, principles, and employment legislation required.
  • Proficiency with computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Experience working with HRIS programs (SuccessFactors) preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on timelines and delivery is required.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally. Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate, understand and respond to the needs of the Human Resources Department to meet or exceed set expectations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions to enhance organizational effectiveness; ability to undertake self-directed tasks when necessary.
  • Excellent time management skills; attention to detail; the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency; ability to develop a work schedule, set goals, create/ implement actions plans and monitor progress towards goals; and ability to make clear, timely decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct oneself in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required.
