MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The HR Generalist is responsible for:
- Providing support throughout the full-cycle recruitment process for a variety of roles, including creating job descriptions, posting new positions, reviewing resumes, conducting phone screens, coordinating and scheduling interviews, updating our ATS, and collaborating with candidates and recruiters at various stages of the interview process with speed and efficiency.
- Providing support to hiring manager through weekly touch points.
- Providing business partner support to all managers and employees of the office.
- Ensuring an exceptional interview and candidate experience through proactive problem solving, process improvement, regular communication, and timely scheduling.
- Facilitating the background check and drug screen process.
- Interpreting human resources policies and providing information to employees.
- Facilitating the onboarding process for new hires.
- Managing and maintaining the I-9 verification process.
- Support of the performance management process, benefits open enrollment, employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs and other processes and projects.
- Conducting research, analyzing data and preparing recommendations on assigned projects.
- Ensuring compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws.
- Providing support to employees on various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Assisting in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational charts.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
- 2-4 + years of HR related experience.
- Working knowledge of HR, benefits and payroll systems (ADP knowledge would be a plus).
- Solid command of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality related to employee and recruitment information.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Previous manufacturing or Federal Contract experience would be a plus.
- Birdon participates in E-Verify.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Position requires use of computer, telephones, and other office equipment, reading, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Domestic travel may be a requirement for the role.
- Position occasionally requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
RELATIONSHIPS
The HR Generalist will be based in New Orleans, Louisiana and will report directly to the VP, People & Culture.
Your communication and direct contact with Birdon clients are an important aspect of this position. It is your responsibility to ensure that Birdon's values and interests are maintained during your relationship with clients, subcontractors, visitors, suppliers, and employees.
