Primary Role: Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, serves to coordinate all aspects of Human Resources functions and administrative duties at a particular location. Assures compliance with regulatory requirements while being a champion for organizational culture according to the mission, vision and values of Latham Pool Products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources Functions:
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
- Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes on ADP and E-Time
- Maintaining I-9s according to federal regulations and conducting I-9 audits
- Partners with HR Generalist on recruiting for all positions, this includes but it is not limited to internal job postings, external advertising, job fairs, open houses, non-profit recruiting, etc. Screening and tracking of applications, and:
- Interviewing applicants for open positions in home and remote locations when needed
- Reviewing pre-hire documentation to meet company’s requirements for hire
- New Hire Orientations
- Partners with Corporate Payroll & Benefits Administrator to include:
- Managing all payroll related issues including but not limited to pay shortages, overpayments, garnishments, support orders, requests for information, etc.
- Processing all pay increases
- Administering the Wage Matrix, partnering with Plant Managers to assure cross-training and appropriate matrix placement
- Coordinating performance reviews and assisting managers with the process
- Partnering with Plant Management to issue and track attendance and discipline; Administering the perfect attendance policy by tracking and documenting all employees with perfect attendance
- Conducting investigations , documenting appropriately and recommending course of action
- Helping or organizing company activities and functions
- Reviewing and enforcing Federal and State Law, along with company policies and procedures
- Coaching and training supervisors and managers about policies and procedures and federal and state law
- Assisting with FMLA claims and other types of leaves (STD, LTD, administrative, personal, etc.) thru Guardian
- Updating all legal posting along with any other plant postings and/or TV communication monitors
Office Administration Functions:
- Partners with HR Generalist to assure the following tasks are completed for locations:
- Ordering flowers and other appreciation items for employees
Safety and Workers Comp Functions:
- Developing and maintaining and enforcing safety rules and regulations
- Conducting visual audits and recommending changes
- Participating in the safety committee meetings
- Documenting and reporting all injuries; Maintaining the safety tracking system up to date; Managing and reporting all injuries
- Maintaining all OSHA logs up to date
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience; HR Certification and Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field; Associates with equivalent experience may be considered
- Previous manufacturing experience highly preferred
- With a high level of interpersonal skills, ability to handle sensitive information and confidential situations while maintaining the utmost in ethical standards
- Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment with diplomacy, accuracy and a service-orientation
- Proactive, solutions-oriented approach to work; able to demonstrate creative problem-solving skills and an inquisitive approach to solving complex or unfamiliar problems
- Strong work ethic; Approachable and responsive – able to develop string working relationships with employees and leaders
- Passion for innovative HR process improvement and efficiency, enabling a deeper focus on organizational development as an HR business partner adept at talent management and retention
- Excellent communication skills required, including being able to hold meetings and perform training in small and large groups - good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills
- Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Survey Monkey, Web Ex, Employee Survey software, HRIS and ADP Workforce Now
- Must be available to work 8am to 5pm, Monday thru Friday at the designated location, with occasional overtime; at least 40 hours per week.
- Physical: Ability to (1) stay in a sitting position for most of the working day while looking at a computer monitor; (2) Walk through the plant at least once per day; (3) Open filing cabinets, bend or stand
