Job description

Will need to have the ability to work swing shifts as needed. (10am-6pm or other similar schedule). 

Job Summary:

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with corporate, employees, and management in our field locations. Serves as an extension of Corporate HR, assessing and anticipating HR-related needs to facilitate the development of integrated solutions. Acts as an employee champion and change agent. Formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. Maintains a competent level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition.

Essential Functions, Roles and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited, to the following:

  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective internal customers to ensure recruiting goals are being meet
  • Works closely with Corporate HR to ensure effective communication between Branch locations and Corporate
  • Consults with Branch and line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues and conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance, seeking Legal guidance as needed/required
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Provides guidance and input on workforce planning and succession planning
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success, and follows up to ensure training objectives are met
  • Complies with all quality, safety, health and environmental requirements, policies and procedures relevant to the position

Education, Training, Experience:   Bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of 5+ years progressive Human Resource experience resolving complex employee relations issues 

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:  PHR, SPHR, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment

Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite, along with HRIS systems (preferably ADP)
  • Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints and counseling managers and employees on interpretation of company policies and procedures
  • Ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships
  • Effective written and oral communication skills throughout the organizational levels required
  • Commitment to ethical practices, and championing global and cultural awareness
  • Solid knowledge of state and federal regulations in the areas of employment and labor laws, regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with essential job functions
  • Project and team management/leadership skills and experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates
  • Capability to plan effectively and set goals and priorities
  • Ability to accurately manage multiple projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines

Supervisory Responsibilities: Position has direct supervisory responsibilities for an HR Coordinator

Travel:  Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area travel will be expected.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Normally work in an office environment; however, occasionally may work at a branch location or manufacturing facility.
  • Occasionally may be exposed to hazards such as loud noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc. while visiting a branch location or manufacturing facility.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
