Your Job

We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Georgia-Pacific's Corrugated Division, supporting and partnering with Managers and Employees at our Albany, GA, Augusta, GA and Spartanburg, SC sites . This position will have the opportunity to advance continuous improvement of HR processes and drive business results.

Our Team

We want to transform the delivery of our HR services to effectively meet both the current and future needs of our customers while delivering gains to the business. The successful candidate would be supporting both Non-Union and Union plants.

This role is based at either the GP Corrugated facility in Albany, GA or Augusta, GA. The successful candidate lives in reasonable commuting distance or is willing to relocate to Albany, GA or Augusta, GA and travel 50% to the other facility, including the Spartanburg, SC facility. We will offer relocation assistance for this role.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with Key Business Partners that include the Ops Mgrs/Superintendents/Front Line Supervisors to support and drive the Ops Vision and priorities.
  • Build credibility and trust with the workforce and leaders.
  • Support all EEs through home-based work as well as flexible and planned travel for onsite support. Active engagement when onsite and follow up of EE matters.
  • Understand, develop, apply, and coach employees on our culture of Principled Based Management.
  • Ensure employees connect with how they create value for the company - identify talent gaps that are obstacles and coach supervisors on the development of gap closure plans.
  • Constructively challenging situations and behaviors that are not consistent with Our Values, Code of Conduct and Compliance Standards. Optimize risk.
  • Performance management support and coaching with risk identification and influencing. Provide strategic guidance to leaders in areas of change management and employee development.
  • Execute on HR Strategies and Priorities
  • Support labor relations through strategic application of the collective bargaining agreement, helping manage Union relationships, and owning some of the grievance matters and processes.
  • Support EE relations through availability and timely communication and follow through. Execute on Union avoidance strategies.
  • Develop business acumen to understand key drivers of business performance and support delivering results.
  • Drive innovation in HR functions and processes to include continued automation of transaction work and leveraging shared capabilities across the business.
  • Administrative in nature duties, such as managing HR system data integrity, owner of random drug test policies.
  • Leverage data driven solutions to analyze and support the business and advance our results.
  • Partner with various capabilities teams to improve our talent position - selection, attraction, and retention. Identify HR Compliance risks and develop gap closure plans to address risks while implementing a systematic approach to maintaining compliance.
  • Support Orientation and Onboarding needs. Liaison with Admin Assistants who also assist in this.
  • Foster a knowledge sharing culture to profitably improve efficiency and consistency for GP and to discover untapped value, while partnering with other HR leaders across GP to share information and best practices.
  • Be forward thinking to anticipate needs and issues before they arise.
  • Supervisor Transactional support.
  • FMLA and LOA Management & Compliance.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree OR three (3) or more years of Human Resources experience
  • At least three (3) years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience with HR processes which might include - culture development, selection, performance management, and talent/org planning.
  • Experience working with, coaching, and influencing leaders.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Labor relations experience (e.g., grievance administration, contract interpretation, etc.).
  • Experience with data analytics; analyzing data, pulling reports, etc. to execute on opportunities.
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
