Position Title: Human Resources Assistant
Reports to: Sr. Manager, Human Resources
Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Human Resources Assistant provides support and facilitates various HR processes and initiatives within the organization. This includes assistance with general administration regarding recruitment/employment, engagement, training & development, and special projects or HR initiatives. Additionally, the HR Assistant provides administrative support to the HR function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provides timely assistance to associates regarding general HR questions and issues
2. Provides support in planning, communicating and executing Company employee engagement activities and special events which includes company celebrations/gatherings, and training & development activities
3. Answers inquiries from inside and outside the company involving employment verifications, and employment activities following established procedures
4. Provides support for company recruitment efforts, which includes: placing open position ads, maintaining employment applications and resumes, maintaining applicant tracking logs, scheduling interviews, conducting/coordinating phone screens and interviews
5. Maintains employee personnel files to ensure legal compliance
6. Provides HR support for new hire on-boarding efforts, which includes: new hire paperwork, new hire orientation documents/meetings, background checks verifications, and scheduling new hire drug screens
7. Provide assistance with the creation of training manuals, HR SOPs, and employee handbook updates
8. Updating and creating job descriptions as needed
9. Provides assistance with coordinating and facilitating the Company’s performance appraisal processes
10. Ensures all HR related invoices are tracked, reconciled, and submitted for processing
11. Serves as back-up for general office administration/front desk duties
12. Performs other duties/projects as assigned

Qualifications
1. High School diploma or GED equivalent
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office
3. Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
4. Working in general office environment a plus
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some kneeling, bending and standing is required as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, M-F 8:30am – 5:00 pm.
