East Hartford Housing Authority is seeking a Housing Manager to join our team! This position will be responsible for the management of East Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have housing experience, be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work with a diverse community.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruitment and retention of employees
- Maintain employee relationship base on understanding of each employee’s needs and providing support as needed
- Conduct on-site training sessions as needed
- Assist with Public Housing residents and Housing Choice Voucher Program participants
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures based on HUD regulations and state and local statues as needed
- Oversee subsidized Housing Programs
- Maintain Housing Program Intergrity
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Housing Manager or Director of Housing
Required Skills:
A. EDUCATION LEVEL:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration or related field or related Housing Authority training / experience
2. Applicants who do not meet the degree requirement may substitute additional work experience in public housing operations as described below.
B. EXPERIENCE IN RELATED FIELD:
1. Five years of successful work experience in housing authority and/or property management setting and a thorough knowledge of federal/state housing regulations, required and
2. Three to Five years’ supervisory experience in housing management or public housing authority, required.
C. UNIQUE EXPERTISE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATIONS:
1. Connecticut Drivers License required.
2. Certified Public Housing Manager or equivalent from an accredited agency, or ability to obtain same within six (6) months.
3. Certified Occupancy Specialist- LIPH and HCV
4. LIPH/HCV Rent Calculation Certification
5. Housing Quality Standards Certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) months
6. Fair Housing and Reasonable Accommodation Certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) months
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $77,549.75 per year
