Housing Specialist
Location: This is the field base position in Clark County, WA
The Housing Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing the health plans housing strategy and programs. This includes the approach to assisting individuals in programs in securing accessible, affordable housing through Federal and local programs.
The Housing Specialist will respond to referrals for the target population and assist them with obtaining shelter, accessing basic needs, addressing barriers to housing, accessing needed resources, and obtaining and maintaining housing. This will include developing a Housing Stability Plan and/or assisting with accessing alternative resources that promote housing stability and align with client choice. The Housing Outreach Specialist will maintain a case load, mediate with landlords, collaborate with service providers, keep up to date documentation, and other duties as assigned. The applicant must be able to meet clients in-person in the community to obtain housing in a timely manner and work on their continued housing stability.
How you will make an impact:
- Liaise between housing agencies and the health plan and partner with these agencies to develop and access affordable housing services for members.
- Partner with the CHOICES and ECF lead trainers to develop and implement training specific to affordable housing services in assigned state.
- Support Care Coordinators and Support Coordinators in identifying housing options for members.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a minimum of 3 years experience in developing housing and/or housing policy at a local, state or federal level for special populations such as the elderly, people with disability and/or people with mental health challenges to secure accessible, affordable housing through Federal and local programs; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
- A bachelor's degree in Social Services or related field highly preferred.
- Experience in Behavioral Health preferred.
- Substance Abuse/Peer Support preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $24.54 to $30.67
