Job description

St. Francis Center (SFC), an institution of the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado, was established in 1983.
SFC is a refuge for homeless people in the metro Denver area. Our programs and services are tailored toward adults and focus on daytime shelter, social services, health and wellness, housing, employment, outreach and a new program to provide non-congregate shelter operations. In SFC's services, the people we serve can work with a variety of specialists, depending on their individual needs, to establish the first step toward transformation, new beginnings and stability.
Department: Housing and Supportive Services
Exemption Status: Full Time, non-exempt position
Location of work: This program is located at a privately owned hotel, the Comfort Inn (4685 Quebec Street), a 136-unit hotel being leased, and services funded by the City of Denver's Office of Supportive Housing.
Position Overview
The goal of Housing Navigator is act as a single point of contact for guests living at the Saint Frances
Non-Congregate temporary housing hotel. Housing Navigators will complete intakes and enrollment into HMIS, completing a VI-SPDAT, working with One Home, assisting with housing search, applications, inspections, teaching basic life skills and budgeting to support housing stability as well as basic case management.
Qualifications
§ Stay current on city laws, policies, regulations and processes to provide the best possible service to guests needing housing.
§ Conducts monthly, quarterly and assessments of clients to inform service provision.
§ Provide support to Program Manager in data tracking and reporting.
§ Complete timely and accurate collection of data across multiple databases including intake and maintenance.
§ Provide comprehensive, one-stop assistance for clients from intake to housing stability for consistency and continuity of care.
§ Attend and provide support for resident meetings, community handbooks, newsletters, focus groups, and other inclusive dialogues with program residents.
§ Provide quality of services for housing participants in the areas of navigation services and housing counseling services, guidance in budgeting, debt reduction, credit re-building and education.
§ Provide supportive services and coordination with other agencies/referrals for outside support.
§ Track communication and follow-up for participant requests, navigation services, ancillary services, and coordination with other internal and external referrals as needed.
§ Maintain awareness of resources, emerging issues, and public policy impacting our targeted populations and industry sector.
§ Ensure confidentiality of client information as required by agency and/or state and federal regulations.
§ Build relationships with landlords, property managers, and other professionals to develop referral sources.
§ Remain familiar and current with HUD requirements and counseling program regulations. Communicate changes in requirements or regulations to HSCP and HUD network and ensure compliance.
§ Monitors timely and accurate collection of data into all databases.
§ Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS
§ Experience working with HMIS and One Home.
§ Demonstrated proficiency assisting individuals in navigating the housing process from homelessness to stability.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor. This is a new and dynamic project and may require changes and adaptations to this scope of work.
EDUCATION (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)
Bachelor's degree in social work, Social Services, or equivalent credentials in a related field preferred.
Three years of experience may be substituted.
§ Knowledgeable of the environment and systems through which clients must move to access programs and services. Understanding of the challenges and barriers faced when experiencing poverty, mental and/or physical disabilities and/or other barriers, regarding how trauma can impact the housing process.
§ Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish working relationships with various entities.
§ Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), grammar, and reasoning skills.
§ Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 and its various programs.
§ Commitment to working within an integrated services model.
§ Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information without breach.
§ Crisis intervention skills supporting individuals with mental, physical, or other disabilities.
§ Ability to coordinate and prioritize numerous activities, resources, and deadlines.
§ Ability to work successfully in a team environment, as well as independently.
§ Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
§ Superior creative problem solving.
BENEFITS
Hourly rate of $25.00 - $27.50 per hour
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a robust benefits package including:
