Housekeeper For Senior Living Community

The Lakes Assisted Living is hiring a full-time housekeeper. This position will serve primarily as a housekeeper, but will also perform light maintenance duties, such as: changing light bulbs, painting, or carpentry/plumbing tasks.

• Weekends may be required.
• $16 - $18 / DOE
• Day Shift

Summary of Responsibilities

• Uphold Mission, Philosophies, and Values.
• Clean assigned resident apartments, common areas and offices in accordance with community policy.
• Report any Items in need of repair to the Housekeeping Manager.
• Collect, wash, fold, and return resident linen and personal laundry weekly. Ensure that all personal items are labeled.
• Provide additional cleaning/sanitizing of incontinent resident suites as directed.
• Clean carpets by the method of extraction and/or shampooing as directed.
• Assist with resident move-ins by helping to arrange personal belongings.
• Report any observed area in poor repair to the supervisor.
• Clean vacant apartments as directed.
• Report any unusual incidents to the Housekeeping Supervisor, Executive Director, or Manager on Duty.
• Clean exterior furniture
• Assist with special events as needed.
• Maintain all equipment in a clean and safe manner.
• Maintain a high standard of building interior and exterior aesthetics and physical condition.
• Work with the management team to ensure the readiness of suites for resident admissions.
• Perform general maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electrical repairs.
• Respond and assist with any resident, staff, guest, or community emergency.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Executive Director, or Manager on Duty.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalency
• Six (6) months experience in housekeeping preferred.
• Knowledge of general maintenance duties or handy-man type tasks.

Knowledge and Abilities Required to Perform Essential Job Duties

• Must possess the ability to read, write and speak English.
• Must possess strong oral, written and telephone skills.
• Must be dependable
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
• Certified in First Aid/CPR
• Must be in good health and physically/mentally capable of performing assigned tasks
• Must possess knowledge of safe sanitation practices, safety practices
• Capable of meeting all requirements that may be specified by the state or other regulatory agencies.
