COMPENSATION
Hourly Minimum - Maximum $23.00 - $27.00 JOB SUMMARY
Forest Lawn is seeking a full-time Housekeeper with a professional demeanor to carry out our mission of providing beautiful, clean, safe and comforting atmospheres to our client families and employees. Our Housekeeper will perform a wide variety of housekeeping and cleaning responsibilities at our Cypress location.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Vacuuming all assigned areas, spot-check the carpet.
- Clean all restrooms; mop floors, clean toilets, sinks, mirrors, counter tops and empty trash. Refill empty tissue, soap, and hand towel dispensers.
- Maintain all furniture: dust and polish. Fill empty dispensers. Vacuum or hand dust all baseboards, staircases, and railing. Remove any finger marks, spots, etc. on walls.
- Check draperies and sheers. Remove loose dust and cobwebs.
- Report any repair or dry cleaning requirements. Check the upholstery, lamp shades, carpeted areas and report areas that need repair or replacement.
- Empty cigarette ashtrays and sweep off porch (outside).
- Check light fixtures and replace or report blown bulbs.
- Empty recycling bins in all office areas.
- Deliver flowers from outside florists to visitation rooms.
- Provide exceptional customer service; Assist families with additional chairs, tables or visitation set up.
- Maintain positive relationships with all Forest Lawn employees and foster a teamwork environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a custodial, cleaning, housekeeping role; in a hospitality environment is preferred.
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- This is a full-time position, must be able to work weekends and some holidays.
- The ideal candidate will understand and respect the nature of our business.
- High School Diploma or GED

DRUG TESTING POLICY
Prior to beginning employment, all job applicants who receive a job offer will be required to voluntarily submit to a drug screening test conducted by a laboratory designated by Forest Lawn. The drug screening method is a hair collection test that will detect the use of illegal drugs within the past 90 days. A positive drug test may result in the withdrawal of the job offer.

Forest Lawn has registered to participate in the federal government's E-Verify program. With E-Verify we are able to confirm the employment authorization of all newly hired employees through an electronic database maintained by the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security.
