House Manager / Personal Assistant (Incl. Household And Office)

Located very conveniently in Windham/Salem. Household has 3 kids (12-16) and 1 adult.

The House Manager is responsible for some transportation, planning for kids activities, involving kids in planning, cleaning and household responsibilities. It also requires getting stuff fixed in the house, planning upgrades, and possibly turning a guesthouse into an AirBNB.

It may include picking up and/or dropping off kids at school events, preparing meals, grocery shopping, mediating conflicts, ensuring homework is completed, and setting a good example. The kids are generally independent when it comes to homework, but don't yet proactively do their jobs when it comes to the household as much. The right person for this job will be able to handle giving and receiving candid communications, able to connect well with kids, and also know when firmness is needed.

The last set of responsibilities are tasks an office assistant would perform. Such a role requires flexibility from the right candidate, but some tasks may include keeping the office organized, ensuring schedule is made and adhered to (also that other time sensitive items don’t slip through the cracks), and other administrative tasks.

It is important that you are proactive to resolve any issues, and that you come up with ideas for how to be productive. This is not a position for someone who works well only when told clearly what to do, or for someone who just does what they want without communication. We need someone who comes up with plans, write and talks the plans through with us, and then executes on them after we have approved the plans.

You have to be somewhat comfortable with ambiguity, not panic when kids panic, optimistic, resilient. Also we have a zero drugs policy.

You need your own car. For tasks involving driving from here, we'll reimburse you at $.40 per mile.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
