We are searching for the right candidate to grow with us as our Director of Special Events for the VUE Rooftop! 

Salary range is $50,000 to $55,000 and is based on experience.

This is a full-time dual role that delicately balances marketing the VuUe Rooftop, creating and executing Special Events, and assists with managing restaurant operations.

Our team is seeking somone to lead hands on in a positive outgoing mindest that focuses on creativity, suports our upscale casual restuarant with consistency, and posseses creative marketing mindset along with restaurant operations knowledge.

 

Otherr responsibilities include, but not limited to;

§ Communicates with other departments on items including but not limited to maintenance needs, food, preparation, banquets, cleanliness, safety, marketing, motivation, retention and future planning.

§ Assists in controlling departmental expenses according to budget and prevention of waste/spoilage/theft.

§ Knows the competition, market position and market segments.

§ Cleans and maintains an organized work area.

§ Assist with planning and arranging promotional programs and advertisements.

SUMMARY

Serves a dual role of managing Special Events and social media outlets for the restaurant and supervises and coordinates activities of dining room employees engaged in providing courteous and rapid service to customers by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


 Books entertainment acts such as live bands, soloists, DJ's, and comedians for the restaurant. 

 Must work to research performers and make recommendations for whom to book. Must negotiate signed contracts, secure W-9 vendor information, and secure an invoice from the performer. Once an event is complete, a post event summary is prepared which includes a detailed assessment in regards to whether or not the performance should be considered again in the future.

 Must continually come up with new entertainment options for the restaurant to consider. Once an event is booked, it is the responsibility of the Director of Special Events to see all details of the event through to their conclusion so that all patrons are as happy as possible. This includes details such as managing staffing levels for the event and purchasing needs.

 For new events, it is expected that necessary equipment will be tested in advance, and this position is responsible for training staff on the details of the event.

 Manages the social media presence for the restaurant. This includes regular, nearly daily posts to drive customer engagement, as well as emailing the restaurants special event calendar on a regular basis.

 Responds to all online customer reviews in a timely manner. Contacts upset guests directly to try to win them back.

 Works events to ensure guests are happy. Events can include birthday parties, corporate parties, graduation events, wedding rehearsal dinners, and many other various events. This includes events that may be booked by the hotel sales staff.

 Does table touches in the restaurant and passes along critical feedback to the management team. The expectation is 100% table visits for the Director of Special Events or other assigned managers.

 Represents the restaurant at a few networking and/or off site functions each year.

 Hires, orients, schedules, coaches, trains and motivates front of house staff.

 Develops and implements training goals and objectives in regards to operations.

 Takes order from customers or wait staff and suggestively sell beverages/food to guests.

 Cards all patrons that appear to be under the legal drinking age and refuses to serve alcohol to minors.

 Serves non-alcoholic beverages, mixed drinks, wine and draught or bottled beer in a friendly courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction.

 Assists with inventorying items such as china, glass, linen and silverware supplies.

 Addresses customer's complaints concerning service, food, and beverages to ensure guest satisfaction.

 Inspects establishment and observes workers and patrons to ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards and local liquor regulations.
