JOB OVERVIEW: Assists with all aspects of the Finance Department. Ensures that all accounting functions are in line with Company standards. Maintains control of the cash on property. Completes financial entries and reporting. Assists with establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. Ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. Oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection and risk management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist the Director of Finance with guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
Assist with preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
Perform monthly surprise cash bank counts.
Responsible for the House Funds bank.
Responsible for the Petty Cash fund.
Make daily deposits of credit cards and cash to the bank.
Provide status of financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting, and reporting key financial data.
Assist Director of Finance in producing Daily and Weekly Reports, Monthly Forecast, Budget preparations, reconciliation of monthly financial records and any other project requests.
Perform an income audit of the previous days' work.
Complete the Daily report.
Daily perform a cash reconciliation to the bank statement.
Daily perform a credit card reconciliation to the bank statement.
Monthly complete the balance sheet reconciliations.
Complete month end and journal entries as needed.
Reconcils Sales Tax daily.
Calculate, file and pay monthly sales, use, occupancy and communication tax monthly prior to the due dates.
Assist with the Budget/Forecast process.
Assist with establishing and implementing SOPs.
Work with department heads to review the monthly general ledger reports and variances to budget.
Reconcile invoices from carriers, investigate and correct discrepancies.
Assist with other accounting duties and projects as assigned.
Complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and is conscientious about assignments.
Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
Identifiy and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assists with managing budget and controls expenses effectively.
Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with Human Resources as appropriate.
Keeps up-to-date on accounting best practices, information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
Provides support to Accounts Payable and Payroll as needed.
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS:

Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, payroll, regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Understanding of and ability to adhere to Uniform Systems of Accounting.
Five or more years' experience in Accounting/Finance.
Prior auditing experience.
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality.
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
Excellent computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
Working knowledge of M3 Accounting Software.
Effective organizational, stress and time management skills.
Excellent analytical, complex problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Desirable:
College degree, Finance or Accounting major.
Fluency in a second language.
Working knowledge of POSitouch, Rover, and payroll software.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
