Gustazo is looking for an individual who is passionate about food and hospitality, with the clear goal of consistently creating a memorable dining experience for our guests.

We are currently seeking a to fill a vacant Host/Hostess position at our establishment.

Role Significance

The position of Host or Hostess is a critical component in our service delivery model. The individual in this role serves as the ambassador of the restaurant, creating the first and last impressions that our guests experience. A calm demeanor, professional appearance, and ability to manage guest expectations are essential traits for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Guest Reception: Greet all incoming guests with a polite demeanor, promptly and professionally guide them to their tables, and accommodate any special requirements or requests they may have.
• Seating Management: Maintain an organized and efficient seating chart to balance guest comfort with optimal utilization of dining space.
• Waitlist Coordination: Manage the guest waiting list during high volume periods, ensuring accurate wait times and clear, respectful communication.
• Telephone Management: Handle all incoming calls with professionalism, taking reservations, and addressing guest inquiries as needed.
• Guest Relations: Monitor the dining area to ascertain guest satisfaction, and engage with departing guests to ensure their experience met or exceeded expectations.
• Menu Familiarity: Be well-acquainted with the menu offerings to answer basic guest questions prior to their dining experience.
• Front-of-House Maintenance: Ensure that the reception area and guest waiting areas maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
• Collaborative Effort: Liaise with service and kitchen staff to ensure a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hospitality role is strongly preferred but not a requirement.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

$18-20/hrs +tips. Pay rate is performance/experience based.
