OBJECTIVE / FUNCTION
The ideal Host/Hostess is a team oriented, high volume, fast paced individual. This position requires energy professionalism and deliver of excellent customer service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet guests in a friendly and inviting manner
Engage in friendly conversation as you seat guests in a timely fashion
Introduce guests to their server
Manage restaurant waiting list during high volume to accurately set guest expectations
Clear, clean and reset tables to ensure they are ready for the next guest as needed
Sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return
Complete additional tasks as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, sit and stoop. Climb or work in confined spaces. Must be able to lift or reach arms over head or below waist. Must be able to hold or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to see, hear and speak without accommodation.
ENVIROMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work in well-lit or dimly lit areas. Must be able to work in moderately to extremely noisy areas. Must be able to work in various temperature settings or areas, such as temperature-controlled walk-in freezers, indoor areas exposed to outdoor weather conditions, or outdoor areas. Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous restaurant hosting experience preferred. Previous customer service, retail sales, or food service/hospitality experience preferred.
PERSONALITY / OTHER
Must be confident, great communicator with the ability to communicate clear and professionally with guests and staff. Must have a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize quickly and manage time effectively. Must be able to work varied shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must present well to others in a positive and professional manner both internally and externally. Must be 16 years of age or older. Must possess and maintain a valid Food Handlers Certificate. Obtain any required alcohol service licensing requirements in ordinance with state liquor laws.
