The overall role of a Host/Hostess is to provide friendly, welcoming service to set the tone for an exceptional dining experience for all our guests. The Host/Hostess shifts are primarily Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Additional shifts may be needed with advanced notice. Below is a list of the typical job responsibilities for a Host/Hostess:
- Warmly and graciously greet all guests as they arrive. Open the front door for guests entering the winery when possible.
- Maintain the reservations management system; update for seated reservations and walk-ins.
- Inform guests of their server's name and any other pertinent information, such as cover charges, before seating.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries.
- Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the winery.
- Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed.
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return. Open the front door for guests leaving the winery when possible.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
