Host/Hostess

Job Overview:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Restaurant Hostess. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a passion for providing exceptional service.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Guest Reception:
• Greet guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor as they arrive at the restaurant.
• Manage the waiting list and seat guests in a timely manner, ensuring a smooth flow of service.
• Reservation Management:
• Answer phone calls and assist guests in making reservations, providing accurate information about availability and wait times.
• Maintain an organized reservation book or system, recording guest information and special requests.
• Seating Arrangements:
• Allocate and assign tables to guests based on party size, server sections, and special requests.
• Coordinate with servers to ensure an even distribution of guests throughout the dining area.
• Customer Service:
• Provide guests with menus, inform them of any specials or promotions, and offer recommendations when requested.
• Attend to guest inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Communication Hub:
• Liaise between guests and restaurant staff, communicating important information such as wait times, table availability, and special requests.
• Relay guest preferences or dietary restrictions to servers and kitchen staff as needed.
• Maintaining Lobby Area:
• Keep the lobby area clean, organized, and welcoming, ensuring a positive first impression for arriving guests.
• Monitor and manage the flow of guests, minimizing congestion and ensuring an efficient seating process.
• Assistance to Servers:
• Support servers by assisting with various tasks such as refilling water glasses, delivering condiments, and clearing empty dishes.
• Collaborate with servers to ensure guests have everything they need for a comfortable dining experience.
• Upselling and Promotion:
• Promote special menu items, drinks, or promotions to guests waiting for a table, enhancing their overall experience.
• Encourage guests to visit the bar or lounge area while waiting, maximizing revenue opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
