We are looking for a Host/Food Runner to join our team at the Fullerton location and facilitate collaboration between our kitchen/bar and wait staff. Host/Food Runner responsibilities include setting up tables, serving food orders, removing used dishes and sanitizing all tables/surfaces. If you’d like to gain experience in the restaurant industry and learn how to provide an excellent dining experience and have a love of craft beer and excellent customer service skills -- we’d like to meet you. To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, including weekends. Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by greeting and seating our guests, serving their food and drinks in a timely and accurate manner and supporting the wait staff so service flows smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Greeting guests as they enter, and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.
- Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.
- Seating guests at tables.
- Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
- Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
- Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
- Answering phone calls, taking reservations and answering questions.
- A knowledge of the menu.
- Interest in craft beer is a plus
- Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
- Providing great customer service.
- Assist in delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately
- Assist the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins
- Assisting customers with additional requests
- Remove dirty dishes/trash and sanitize tables
- Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
Skills
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
- Availability to work various shifts, including weekends
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Good oral communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
Requirements
- Must have current ServSafe food handlers card or obtain one within 30 days
- Current California eTIPS or LEAD certification
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.50 per hour
