Qualifications Include:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state(s) where currently practicing
- Three to five years of experience in healthcare, with Hospice experience.
- Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices.
- Experience in a supervisory position, 2 years preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems and computerized systems in general
- Knowledge of community health principles and practices
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine commitment to providing exceptional end-of-life care.
- Familiarity with Medicare/Medi-Cal rules and regulations related to hospice services

The Hospice Director of Patient Care Services (DOPCS) is a Registered Nurse (RN) who oversees the delivery of high-quality care to hospice patients. They lead a team, establish care policies, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compassionate end-of-life care. They also handle strategic planning, budgeting, and regulatory compliance. You will ensure the highest quality of care is provided in accordance with attending physician orders and plans of care. The DOPCS will oversee skilled nursing and other therapeutic services, participate in professional service activities, and contribute to the development and qualification of personnel.

Role Responsibilities:
- Participate in developing standards and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of services
- Collaborate to establish staffing patterns and utilization of clinical personnel
- Oversee the daily operations of the hospice department, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the quality of care provided to hospice patients and their families.
- Evaluate, counsel, and terminate service personnel
- Plan for the orientation of new employees and arrange consultation needs of staff
- Coordinate interdisciplinary team services and oversee the development of Patient Care plans
- Monitor Lorian's ongoing performance improvement program and report results
