JOB SUMMARY
The Night Auditor is responsible for the safety and security of our Guests during the Graveyard Shift. The Night Auditor contributes to the Hotel’s commitment to high quality Guest service and teamwork and must be the kind of person who appreciates high standards of excellence. The Night Auditor is responsible for the preparation and disposition of all Night Audit work during the overnight shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Acts as Manager on Duty in the absence of management.
- First contact for Guest concerns during the graveyard shift.
- Assists Guests with check in and check out processes (verifying registration, address and credit information, balancing bank, posting charges). Go above and beyond to provide assistance, assist with luggage, coffee, directions, wake up calls, future reservations, etc.
- Coordinates all Guest requests, informs Guests of hotel services, features, and room amenities.
- Makes Guest reservations.
- Walks/Relocates Guests.
- Answers phone calls and handles wake up calls.
- Handles coupons, promotional and package rates.
- Handles disputed items and service complaints.
- Handles cash and makes deposits.
- Checks with second shift for any important information and counts drawer.
- Secures all doors, prints and reviews initial close paperwork.
- Reads the Log Book for any questions, comments, or concerns. Takes action if needed.
- Releases any group blocks that are not picked up.
- Prints Downtime Reports.
- Counts bank. Fills out cash log sheet and includes calculator printout.
- Records the House Count.
- Checks to see how many guaranteed arrivals are left to check in. Checks number of vacant/clean rooms left.
- Verifies that all expected departures have been checked out.
- Reviews the expected arrivals. Looks for possible duplicate reservations, special requests or multi-room reservations.
- Checks the Discrepant Housekeeping Status. Resolves as necessary.
- Locates 1st and 2nd shift checklists/emergency reports from binder/Prints new checklist, Shift Change Cash Sheets and puts back in binder for the next day.
- Retrieves the Wake Up Call Log and ensures that each wake up request has been set into the system.
- Prints a Trace Report. Passes on information or takes action. Resolves traces as necessary.
- Prints Inactive Ledger Report, Room Rates Audit and Daily Activity Report. Runs Credit Card Authorization Increase and makes sure we have payment for all rooms.
- Prepares and runs Audit. (Preparation, Running Audit, New Day).
- Organizes Desk Area and clean as needed.
- Prints out all Due-Outs, Express Check Out folios.
- Passes any information on to morning shift Front Desk employees
