Home Weatherization Crew Leader

• Identify efficiency improvements while maintaining the quality standards set forth by Better World Builders.
• Work closely with Production Manager and Accountant in closing out jobs for billing processes; utilizing Excel,Dropbox, and various other programs, focusing on individual measures completed in a home with air sealing,insulation, etc.
• Oversee a variety of tasks including procuring and transporting materials or completing checklist items to complete a job.
• Responsible for jobsite safety.
• Keep project on schedule and on budget both financially and per allotted labor hours.
• 100% accountability for job execution, establishing critical path to job completion.
• Participate in trainings and webinars to broaden knowledge base and technical skills.
• Facilitate crew meetings to review production goals and other project items.
• Work closely with the Production and/or Project Manager to determine workflow and daily priorities.
• Work with and serve as a mentor to new Crew members, overseeing and implementing training and noting progress.
• Communicate with sales person, sub-contractors, weatherization programs and auditors, as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

• Crew Leader will be required to manage current sub-activities and plan next job.
• Planning of project related to materials, labor, vehicles, and scheduling of equipment necessary for job.
• Inspect and test job site work using quality control measures, IR Camera and Blower Door.
• Ability to plan and schedule out beyond current active jobs for future jobs.
• Complete check lists with crew, including photos of completed checklists uploaded to network dropboxes.
• Ensure photos taken at sites daily by crew are uploaded to accurate network dropbox at the end of each day.
• At times it may be necessary for CL to leave the job site to perform other duties. CL is responsible for ensuring crew members on each site have clear direction and an adequate amount of work to complete in absence of CL.
• Maintain communication with client, project manager and office staff about project progress and any needed change orders.

• Use of technology will be necessary to communicate with client and office to reference and verify project detailand to order materials. Appropriate devices will be supplied by BWB.
• Crew Leader will be responsible to check the work of crew members to ensure BWB quality standards are metaccording to best practices set forth in the training program.
• Crew Leader will be responsible to procure all materials needed to complete the project.
• Ability to develop plan to execute scope of work by:
  • Identifying materials and staffing needs.
  • Preparing homeowner/occupants for the scope of work.
  • Determine readiness of the job site for the scope of work.
  • Identify work site safety hazards and inform crew of safety requirements.
• In addition to managing the project and performing managerial duties, being well adapted and experienced in performing ALL functions of the project is necessary, this includes but is not limited to: 
  • Cellulose installation.
  • Spray foam applications.
  • Dense packing installs.
• Crew Leader will have experience and understanding of equipment, this includes but is not limited to:
  • Infrared Camera.
  • Use of blower door.
  • Job machinery (extractors, generators, spray foam, mold foggers, etc.)
• In order to accomplish what is required the Crew Leader must be comfortable and confident in delegating certain aspects/duties of the project to crew members, such as:
  • Obtaining necessary materials.
  • Staging tools, equipment and materials.
  • Pre-trip inspections and checklists.
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment.
  • Keeping jobsite clean of debris.
  • End of day jobsite clean-up.
  • Managing tools and equipment on site.

• Minimum Education/Experience - 2 years Manager or Leadership experience, College degree or equivalent.
• Ability to read work orders, give direction, identify critical pathway tasks, ensure quality installations.
• Desire to accomplish work and be part of something big that requires teamwork.
• Problem solving skills - understand house systems - roofing, attic ventilation, siding windows.
• Problem solving skills - mechanical systems a plus - small engines, blowers, generators, insulation machines.
• Ability to use computers, tablets, cell phones to document work.
• Ability to track and summarize project process and fill out paperwork as needed.
• Ability to communicate with customers, crew, and company management.
• Ability to keep equipment, materials and crew members organized to achieve job goals in a timely manner.
• Desire to continually learn more about building science, home performance, and people management.
• Experience with Excel, T-Sheets, and MS Teams a plus.
• Experience with Blower Doors, Combustion Analysis, and Infrared Imaging a plus.
