Position Purpose:
The SAFE Home Study Specialist is responsible for conducting initial COMAR required SAFE Home Studies as well as all home studies updates required for foster home re-licensure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Initiates all initial COMAR required SAFE Home Studies for new potential foster homes and completes home study reports in compliance with COMAR and DCMR licensing regulations.
- Conducts SAFE Home Studies for foster home renewals and ensures timely completion of renewal home study reports in compliance with COMAR and DCMR licensing regulations.
- Ensures foster parents have necessary documentation to meet re-licensing requirements in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with the social work team when completing home study renewals to discuss any updates to household composition.
- Conducts three home study visits to complete home study interviews and narrative reports ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree (MSW) with two years related experience.
- Maryland and DC social work license.
- Exceptional teamwork orientation with good written/oral communication skills.
- An attitude compatible with the goals and purposes of NCCF.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required y this job require close vision working with a computer monitor. While performing the duties of this job, employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
