SalaryRoutine histology duties, i.e. microtomy of paraffin blocks, quality control performance of microtome and water bath, prep and cleaning of equipment use, quality control status of solutions and stains, H&E routine staining of tissue slides, coverslipping stained slides, labeling finished slides, microscopically examine finished slides for correct staining of nuclei and counter stain, knife lines, artifact, bubbles and debris, give slides to the pathologist for diagnosis, perform special stains, set up stains and solutions for procedure, measure and weigh chemicals needed for stain, run a positive and negative control slide with regular slide, examine results before giving to the pathologist. All staining performed by hand.
This is a part-time position. Hourly rate.
Must have certification from an accredited institution and licensed as histotechnician.
