Position
Renton Technical College seeks a self-motivated, organized, and enthusiastic person to join our team as the High SchoolPrograms Outreach & Recruitment Manager. This position will focus on outreach and recruitment strategies and activities to increase access to dual enrollment programming and transitioning from High School completion. The purpose of the position is to increase dual-enrollment participation and matriculate students to college level programs upon completion of High School diploma or GED. The manager will develop and facilitate events and activities for prospective students and their families to understand the opportunities, benefits, and considerations in participating in dual enrollment, and the benefit of continuing education beyond diploma or GED completion. The manager will also develop, support, and facilitate broader outreach and recruitment activities to promote professional / technical education opportunities. Recruitment efforts will include working with RTC students enrolled in the College and Careers Pathway (CCP) area of study.
The High School Program Outreach & Recruitment Manager is represented by The Renton Professional Technical Association (Prof-Tech). The pay range for this role is $5,666-$7,109 monthly and salary placement is based on applicable work experience. New hires may not be placed above Step 10 ($6,809.) Prof-Tech employees receive a yearly degree stipend depending on the highest level earned (Associate's degree $150, Bachelor's $250, or a Master's $350). Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Include
  • Demonstrate multicultural competence (including an awareness and understanding of historically minoritized populations) and create an educational and work environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Develop and coordinate marketing, recruiting and outreach activities to enhance knowledge of and participation in High School program pathways like: CTE dual-credit, Running Start, GED, and High School completion.
  • Work closely with admissions, financial aid, and registrar to facilitate dual admissions, student support, and seamless transition to the college.
  • Collaborate with staff across the campus and district to lead outreach, intake, information, and other onboarding initiatives.
  • Develop and facilitate on-campus events, tours, and programming to showcase RTC's educational offerings to prospective students, current CCP students, High Schools, and community-based organizations.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and staff across campus, as well as with the Marketing and Communication department, to execute events and programming.
  • Build and maintain relationships with appropriate High School staff (career staff, counselors, etc.) and school district staff within the RTC service district.
  • Work with college and district staff to develop and implement best practices related to High School program recruitment and retention targeted at diverse populations of students.
  • Partner with Institutional Research to help track students, analyze and report data related to student outreach, enrollment and retention...OR... Compile and report outreach and recruitment data.
  • Assist students with the College's entry process and make appropriate referrals for additional student support as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership in working with and supporting persons from diverse backgrounds such as sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, socio-economic, physical and learning abilities, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working / learning environment.
  • Associate's degree required, bachelor's degree preferred, at least two years of experience with outreach and recruitment; 1 year of experience with K-12 system required. Equivalent years of relevant experience will be considered in place of a degree.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Work collaboratively with community members, external organizations, students, staff, faculty, and administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote universal design and accessibility. Proficiency in (or ability to learn within 6 months of hire) the production of accessibility content, whether print or electronic.
  • Ability to make frequent presentations to audiences of varying sizes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, think critically and exercise independent judgment required.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, specifically experience creating & editing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Previous success learning new computer software programs/platforms required.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail required as well as previous experience maintaining accurate records, managing multiple tasks, and planning and organizing work to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to speak a regionally top spoken language other than English is preferred (Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Somali, and Chinese).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Able to lift 25 lbs. safely.
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works during college business hours, however, there will be frequent evening events (on and off campus) the position will organize and/or facilitate. This position will move throughout campus frequently, utilizing various spaces to facilitate planned activities. The position will also have regular travel to locations within the RTC service district. Work will occur on-campus, remotely, and in the community, under the direction of the supervisor.

2024 Employee Benefits Summary
Coverage begins the first day of the month following the date of hire. If the date of hire is the first working day of the month, coverage begins immediately. Dental Coverage
Renton Technical College provides dental coverage at no monthly premium cost to the employee. Benefit eligible employees have a choice of dental plans. Options include:

Vision
Employees do not pay separate premium for vision coverage; it is covered under the medical plan. Optical service frequency and hardware (glasses, contact lenses, etc.) vary depending on type of plan selected.
Waiving Medical Coverage
If you have other medical insurance you can choose to waive medical coverage for yourself or any family member. If you have existing coverage through your spouse or domestic partner, please contact the plan directly to see how they will coordinate benefits.
If waiving medical coverage, the employee will still be covered under the dental insurance plan at no monthly premium cost.
Medical Flex Spending Accounts (FSA& LFA) & Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP)
The FSA, LFA and DCAP plans are offered by the College and the State of Washington. FSA is a PEBB sponsored benefit program that allows you to use pre-tax money in a calendar year to pay for certain out-of-pocket medical expenses and/or Child care expenses.
An FSA can save you 25 - 40% on your eligible expenses. Both plans are offered as payroll deductions.
Annual contributions in 2024 for Medical Flexible Account can be between a minimum of $120 to maximum of $3,050. As a "use it or lose it" IRC governed plan, medical expense reimbursements can be requested for employee, spouse, or their IRS eligible dependents.
