Falmouth High School is seeking a dynamic and innovative full-time Health teacher starting in the 2024-25 academic year. This individual will teach five sections of student-centered classes in Health each semester; other full-time faculty responsibilities include serving as an advisor, supporting independent student learning initiatives, and taking an active role in the school community in support of student learning and wellness. Falmouth teachers are expected to engage in ongoing professional learning, authentic collaboration with other faculty and staff, and regular goal-setting and reflection.
The ideal candidate:
Falmouth High School is located on a 100-acre district K-12 campus in Falmouth Maine, a coastal community bordering the city of Portland. Our campus features extensive fields, trails, gardens and greenhouse, and rich opportunities for collaboration between schools. In recent years, each of our three schools in the district has been a recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Award; student achievement is exemplary and the community takes great pride in all academic, co-curricular, and athletic accomplishments. - has a demonstrated history of employing innovative pedagogies that are grounded in strong understanding of adolescent development and learning theory
- possesses the ability to differentiate instruction and help students master the subject matter despite different skill levels or ages
- confidently integrates technology to advance education in the classroom
- prioritizes positive collegial interactions and collaborative relationships with other teachers
- possesses excellent communication and organizational skills
- is culturally competent and supports diverse learners

Qualifications:
- Must hold (or be eligible to hold) Maine Teaching Licensure (520 Health Educator)
- Experience preferred
- Approved background check (run by the district).
