Job Description
Students shall receive first-hand exposure and experience to the crafts in the form of “work-study” activities while ensuring a safe, educational environment. To learn through observation and de minimis participation in direct work activities/opportunities and through academic offerings provided by the Company. Students, through learning, shall demonstrate honesty, integrity, and accountability; attributes that will prepare the student for long term careers in the utility industry and that promote the success of Avista. Students shall be an active, supportive participant within their team, while observing maintenance/construction/operational activities and to assisting in support duties for their assigned work center.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a participating High School.
  • Must have a current GPA of 2.5 or higher and able to maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher while participating in the program.
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) school counselor/teacher recommendation or equivalent.
  • Must provide parental/guardian agreement to participate in the program and return all forms documenting agreement by the required deadline as communicated.
  • Must be 18 years of age by July 1 following graduation from High School.

Note: Participating High Schools: Kettle Falls High School, Lakeside High School, Clark Fork High School, Noxon High School, or NewTech Prep.
