Job Summary:

The Helpdesk Technician provides technical support and desktop technology management for all on-site and off-site GlobalMed employees. This role is also responsible for supervising the work of other Help Desk staff members.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and installation of information technology systems.
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets in an orderly fashion.
  • Prioritize urgent vs important requests under the supervision of the Director of IT.
  • Provide prompt, cordial face-to-face interactions with all employees of GlobalMed.
  • Delegates workload to other Helpdesk Technicians to ensure all work tickets or tasks are accomplished on time to meet customer expectations and needs.
  • Resolve low-impact issues to the best of their ability and seek out assistance from the IT support team where needed or escalate to Director of IT.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and provision hardware as needed in accordance with Equipment Request Work Items and with approval from the Director of IT.
  • Pursue and track warranty claims and license expirations.
  • Document all activities within the work tracking system as training dictates and document new procedures for systems acquired by the business.
  • Make the business successful by removing technical impediments for users wherever needed and by using whatever resources are available.
  • Work with IT staff to establish industry best practices for managing technical assets within a HIPAA environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A+ Certification, Microsoft Certification, Basic TCP/IP Networking knowledge, Active Directory administration.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Familiar with Windows/Windows Server
  • Familiar with Windows Active Directory
  • Familiar with group policy administration.
  • Familiar with VoIP, Microsoft 365 administration, MAC, iOS, Android
  • Azure active directory and Azure DevOps experience, preferred
  • Skills to maintain and troubleshoot various software and programs such as Asset Management software, Adobe, Microsoft 365 suite, SharePoint, Security Access software, Remote Support software, 3D design/engineering software, Security camera software, Climate control, and multi-factor authentication.
  • Experienced in the setup, troubleshooting of hardware/software and maintaining desktop computers, laptops, printers/scanners, smart TV’s and various peripheral devices.
  • Confidence and attention to detail. Needs to be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Change’s approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 6-8 hours per day.
  • Ability to utilize telephone/video conferencing for approximately 2-4 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift and/or move at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform simple grasping, including handwriting, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, etc. periodically throughout the entire workday.
  • Occasionally remain in a stationary position throughout day.
  • Frequently move about inside and outside the premises, able to work under desk.
