Field Service Technician - Help Desk
Position Title: Field Service Technician - Help Desk
Department/Section: Technical Services
Supervisor: Assistant Director of Technology
Hourly Rate: $24.25 - $25.00hour (depending on experience)
Pay Grade: 101
Schedule: 40 hours/week; Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm; 12-month position; Benefits offered; Arizona State Retirement System eligible
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION
Help desk coordinator responsibilities consist of answering calls, entering helpdesk tickets, planning, organizing, and assisting the technical services team in prioritizing day-to-day activities.
  1. Manage the calls received on the helpdesk phone line.
  2. Assist the technical services team in prioritizing day-to-day support.
  3. Enter and update helpdesk tickets.
  4. Provide technical assistance to teachers and staff.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  6. Provide support for Apple devices (laptops, iMacs, iPads, Apple TV's)
  7. Provide support for MS Windows laptops and desktops.
  8. Provide support for printers.
  9. Provide support for software applications.
  10. Create and maintain support documentation.
  11. Respond to service request entered in the Helpdesk system.
  12. Perform occasional night and weekend work.
  13. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in Technology, CIS or Computer Science preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Arizona driver's license and a good driving record.
  • 3 years of experience working in Technology.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and documentation.
  • Working knowledge and skills supporting these operating systems: Win10, macOS and iOS.
  • Working knowledge and skills using a Helpdesk system, Google Apps, Office 365 and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies including DHCP, DNS, TCP, WIFI.
  • Ability to diagnose and correct software and hardware problems.
  • High level of English proficiency for completing tasks and communications.
  • Excellent customer support, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess leadership, active listening, and conflict mediation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment to set priorities and make decisions.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time, and lift 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.

Essential functions of this position include: walking; working with and around other FUSD staff; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand-wrist) for keyboarding; vision-acuity (near) for monitoring PC screen data; Color vision necessary for working with color coded cables; hearing and speech (ordinary conversation) for communicating with staff and customers; touch (finger dexterity) for keyboarding; Environmental hazards include electrical hazards associated with working with computers.
