HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR/LOADER
Department: Transportation/Operations
Location: Palomar Transfer Station – Carlsbad, CA
Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary
Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. is a leading player in the waste management and recycling industry, committed to environmental sustainability and responsible waste disposal. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator/Loader to join our team and contribute to our mission.
Responsibilities
As a Heavy Equipment Operator/Loader at Ecology Auto Parts, Inc., you will be responsible for the following:
Loading Operations:
· Operate Heavy Equipment, including loaders, to efficiently load garbage trucks and facilitate the movement of trash within the transfer station.
· Ensure the timely and accurate loading of waste materials while adhering to safety and operational guidelines.
Traffic Management:
· Assist in directing traffic within the transfer station to facilitate smooth customer disposal of garbage.
· Maintain a customer-friendly approach, providing assistance and guidance as needed.
Equipment Maintenance:
· Perform regular cleaning of scales used for truck loading, utilizing blowers and other tools to maintain cleanliness and efficiency.
· Conduct routine maintenance tasks on machines to ensure optimal performance levels.
Machine Cleaning:
· Thoroughly clean all equipment at the end of each day, including the use of blowers to remove debris and ensure cleanliness.
· Monitor and maintain appropriate fluid levels in machines to prevent malfunctions.
Transfer Station Support:
· Demonstrate a helpful and cooperative demeanor to assist colleagues and customers within the transfer station.
· Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall operational efficiency.
Requirements:Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills
· Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator, preferably in waste management or a related field.
· Valid Heavy Equipment operator license (Preferred).
· Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines for operating Heavy Equipment.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor as required.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
· Required to regularly stand and walk
· Must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
· Some travel required
Schedule
Work on all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
Mandatory work on Saturdays and Sundays, with a designated day off on Wednesdays.
Compensation
The Heavy Equipment Operator/Loader position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $19.00. In addition to the hourly pay, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan with employer matching, generous paid time off, and life insurance coverage. The final compensation will be contingent upon the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and skills, reflecting our commitment to providing a rewarding and competitive remuneration to attract top talent in the industry.
