Heavy Equipment Operator

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Heavy Equipment Operation: Proficiently operate and maintain various Heavy Equipment, including but not limited to backhoes, loaders, articulated dump trucks, water trucks, and a range of agricultural tractors.

2. Land Preparation: Prepare the land for planting, crop management, and other farming activities using equipment such as discs, planters, and plows.

3. Infrastructure Projects: Assist in installing culverts, road repairs, and pad construction to uphold and improve the farm's infrastructure.

4. Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on equipment to ensure their optimal working condition.

5. Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations when operating Heavy Equipment. Play a pivotal role in fostering a safe work environment for all farm employees.

6. Physical Labor: Engage in physical labor tasks, including equipment loading/unloading, assisting with manual labor assignments, and supporting overall farm operations.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:

1. Heavy Equipment Experience: Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining Heavy Equipment, which may include backhoes, loaders, articulated dump trucks, water trucks, and agricultural tractors.

2. Strong Work Ethic: A hardworking, reliable, and dedicated individual who is willing to perform physical labor in various weather conditions.

3. Safety Conscious: Committed to strictly following safety protocols to ensure personal safety and the safety of colleagues.

4. Team Player: Capable of working effectively within a team, communicating clearly with other farm staff.

5. Grade Reading Skills: Ability to read and comprehend grade plans, execute land-leveling tasks accurately. While not mandatory, a willingness to learn is essential.

6. Agricultural Knowledge: Familiarity with farming practices, land preparation, and crop management is a plus. While not mandatory, a willingness to learn is essential.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

• Working outside in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, and climb up and down steep slopes
• Some cutting operations require bending over and heavy lifting
• Pushing and pulling

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
