Soiland Company is hiring a full-time Entry-Level Heavy Equipment Operatorto join our team at our Stony Point Rock Quarry location in Cotati, California!

Qualified candidates will have basic maintenance skills and at least 2 years of recent (within past 4 years) experience in operating heavy mobile equipment such as a Water Truck, Front End Loader, or Haul Truck. This position will support our company in various tasks, such as assisting site mining operations (mining, transporting, stockpiling, and sorting material) and daily plant and yard maintenance (weed whacking, recycle picking line, plant cleanup, shoveling). The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, great work habits, and the ability to work as a team and independently.

Essential Functions:

- Responsible for the safe and effective operation of a variety of equipment and Heavy Equipment to accomplish tasks associated with standard site production operations and activities in a consistent and efficient manner to maximize throughput.

- Responsible for performing inspection and minor maintenance (pre- & post-operation) on equipment and Heavy Equipment assigned to, ensuring readiness and safe operational status to reduce downtime. Complete associated paperwork as required.

- Ability to maintain alertness to audio and visual signs during operation of Heavy Equipment, in order to make timely and sound decisions while operating equipment.

- Participate in site and plant cleanup, maintenance, and repair activities.

- Adhere to all safety regulations, and site policies and operating procedures.

- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.

- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

- Must have at least 2 years of recent (within the last 4 years) experience operating relatable Heavy Equipment.

- Must be able to frequently climb into and out of Heavy Equipment (numerous times per day).

- Must be able to work from heights while harnessed for fall protection and safety.

- Must demonstrate good communication skills with the ability to speak and understand English.

- Ability to deliver quality work consistently.

- Ability to work safely and efficiently, knowing where other objects are in relation to a piece of equipment being operated.

Physical Requirements: This position works outdoors with exposure to the weather, chemicals, odors and fumes; bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders and stairs; working on elevated platforms; pushing, pulling, moving moderate to heavy objects; ability to operate electrical and mechanical equipment; standing for long periods of time; walking; sitting; climbing up and down into/out of equipment; driving/operating a motorized piece of Heavy Equipment in order to perform the essential functions.

Minimum Requirements:

- Must be 18 years or older and provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.

- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (pre-employment physical exam including drug testing).

Compensation & Benefits:

- This position is a non-exempt full-time position.

- The pay range for this position is $24 - $29 per hour.

- We offer weekly pay, paid holidays, PTO, health benefits (medical, dental, & vision) with employer contribution of 100% for employee and 75% for eligible dependents.
