Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:
- Operate Heavy Equipment machinery to excavate, fill, level and distribute material for installation of underground utilities (sewer, water and storm sewer lines) for municipalities.
- Operator is proficient in the use of a diverse range of construction equipment including, Excavators,
Loaders, Dozers, Rollers, Skid Steers and other pieces of equipment.
- Will provide training as necessary.
- Work area typically southern Minnesota and northern Iowa; occasionally farther.

Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license required and safe driving record.
- Must be capable of operating multiple pieces of construction equipment used in underground construction, base preparation and construction in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Pre-employment drug testing.
- Must be able to walk, bend, climb, shovel and lift up to 75 lbs. to assist in numerous tasks on the crew.
- Must be able to work extended hours during the construction season, and willing to travel.
- Must be able to work outdoors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions.
- Conduct self in a professional manner at all times in the execution of duties.
- Must report to work as scheduled.
- Maintain professional demeanor in all dealings with clients, supervisors and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment.
- Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of construction equipment
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers.
- Must work as a team to complete jobs safely and effectively.
- Demonstrate proficiency in adhering to all Federal, State, and Local laws.
- Follow and comply with all company Health, Safety and Environmental rules and regulations.

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 55 – 65 per week
