Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance. The primary function of this position is to operate multiple pieces of large mining equipment associated with the production of taconite pellets in a self-directed work environment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, end-dump trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, and graders.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Operate multiple pieces of heavy mining equipment in a self-directed work environment.
- Be able to take direction to execute the daily, weekly, and monthly mine plan.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years old; High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be flexible with work assignments; will assist other departments as needed and required.
- Must have an exceptional work ethic, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a self-directed team environment.
- Demonstrated safe working practices and excellent safety record.
- Must be willing to work full-time, rotating shifts.
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-year post-secondary degree or 4-year post-secondary degree; OR 4-years full-time military; OR 2 years of related full-time work experience.
- 2-year post-secondary degree in Mining Industrial Technology or Heavy Equipment Operations & Maintenance is preferred.
- Work experience in an industrial environment.
- Recent Heavy Equipment operating experience.
- Excellent attendance record.
Successful candidates will need to pass a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen; background check, and other pre-employment testing.
