Basic Function
The current vacancy is in the Public Works department. The eligibility list created by this vacancy may be used to hire other vacancies in the department or County.

Examples of Work Performed
- Transport construction materials to a job site by driving a tandem axle dump truck.
- Remove snow by driving a single or tandem axle truck.
- Maintain roads by operation of motorized equipment such as roadway sweepers, oilers or rollers.
- Inspect equipment each day for safety or maintenance problems and perform minor maintenance to equipment as needed.
- Assist work crews in the operation of power tools or in manual labor when equipment is not in use.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Education sufficient to provide the knowledge required.
Experience: One-year experience as a Highway Maintenance Laborer or the equivalent.
Substitution: None.
Certifications/Licensure: A valid Class A Minnesota Commercial Drivers License.
Other: Positions in this job class are subject to drug and alcohol testing pursuant to Department of Transportation rules. Testing negative on required tests is a condition of employment.
