Technica LLC seeks to recruit for the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic QC Lead on a Government contract with a place of performance at Fort Bliss, TX. This position is full-time but temporary. Anticipated period of performance ending 31 January 2025, contingent on contract award. Signing bonus may be offered to eligible candidates.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assists in overseeing the quality of field and sustainment maintenance for military equipment (inspections, services and repairs) using Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army).
- Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on tactical and combat equipment requiring repairs and determine the reparability of items based on the Maintenance Expenditure Limit (MEL).
- Validate customers estimated cost of damage (ECOD) and actual cost of damage (ACOD) for repairs; ensures vehicle/equipment condition classifications, ECODs and ACODs are completed in accordance with DA PAM 750-8.
- Verifies initial, in progress and final inspections and that paperwork is completed IAW the QA/QC SOP on all different types of equipment to include but not limited to; M1 tank platform, M2 Bradley platforms, Construction Equipment, Airport Support Equipment, Tractors, Generators and other small engine equipment.
- Verifies inspections are performed IAW the applicable TMs or service manuals.
- Monitor maintenance allocations time associated with work orders, directly task QC inspector's workload on a daily basis.
- Spot check work orders inspections to ensure they were completed to standard IAW all Army regulations and technical manuals.
- Spot check final inspections on equipment as well as review all final work orders for accuracy before the equipment is ready for QAE inspection.
- Monitor daily QC inspector's activity and communicate any issues or concerns to the Supervisor.
- Make educated judgment calls on ordering parts and deeming serviceability if questions arise.
- Manage shop operations and bring considerations and ideas forward that may expedite the return of customer's equipment.
- Utilizes automated maintenance management systems to provide maintenance information to customers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have experience supervising vehicle maintenance operations, specifically Army Maintenance.
- Must have hands-on experience with GCSS-Army; the ability to provide information, data and reports using GCSS-Army is required.
- Must possess in-depth knowledge of AESIP and Logistics Data Analysis Center (LDAC) applications.
- Must have knowledge in completing necessary documentation such as DA Forms 2404/5988E Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet, DA Form 2407 Maintenance Request, DA Form 2407-1 Maintenance Request Continuation Sheet, DA Form 7723 Maintenance Expenditure Limit Waiver, DA Form 461-5 Vehicle Classification Inspection, and other applicable DA/DoD forms.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Must be able to prioritize responsibilities in order to handle a demanding workload.
- Must have a working knowledge of Electronic Maintenance System - Next Generation (EMS-NG)
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident for more than 3 years for CAC/ NACI eligibility.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 18 years of age.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. As well as stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
- Be able to pick up and move items within a 49-lb restriction.
- Be capable of climbing on equipment at 10 feet or more above ground limit.
- Capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Able to work past normal hours as mission dictates.
