Position Overview: Lead Heavy Equipment Field Mechanicw/CDL
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our AWP fleet. As the Field Technician, you will be the primary point of contact for all maintenance and repair activities. Weekends and "on call" status required, service location is primary California (with travel to CA, AZ, NV, HI)
Responsibilities:
· Visit job sites and conduct routine inspections and diagnostics to identify and address mechanical issues promptly. Research repair history. Secure customer approval for repairs and complete.
· Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs.
· Develop and implement preventive maintenance & inspection schedules to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
· Perform and document OEM inspections (90 day & Annual), Caltrans BIT inspection (chassis every 90 days) complete service reports, documenting inspection and any recommended repairs.
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems, ensuring all equipment meets safety and operational standards.
· Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and parts procurement.
· Safely operate, maneuver and transport Heavy Equipment (CDL) and materials to and from job sites.
· Adhere to all safety guidelines posted at active jobsite where repairs and maintenance are completed as well as ensure compliance with all company safety regulations and policies.
· Assist in the development, training and improvement of maintenance processes and procedures.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years active proven experience as a Lead, Seasoned or Lead Field Technician, preferably with expertise in aerial work platforms.
· Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving is required.
· You must not have a fear of heights to be eligible for this job
· Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and PC literacy and understanding of basic network concepts
· Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
