Responsibilities
Main Activities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on mobile and stationary equipment including front end loaders, forklifts, cranes, pumps, stationary engines, and generators.
- Perform repairs to mobile and stationary equipment
- Inspect mobile and stationary equipment for defects or required repairs
- Advise the Garage Mechanic Supervisor of required major repairs or replacements to mobile and stationary equipment Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to all safety standards
- Assist with administrative duties related to maintenance of mobile and stationary equipment
- Assist in preparing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Assist in setting up third party inspections on cranes.
- Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Assist in maintaining PM records and repair logs.
- Perform other related duties.
Knowledge
Heavy Equipment Mechanic must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- Knowledge of procedures for the repair and maintenance of a wide range of mobile and stationary equipment
- Knowledge of mobile and stationary preventative and predictive maintenance schedules and programs
- Knowledge of when to contact other trade-persons or professionals to complete a task or repair
- Knowledge of equipment inspection procedures
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures Knowledge of record keeping systems
