Responsibilities:
Bechtel's Equipment Operations yard maintains a fleet of trucks, cranes, earth moving equipment, man-lifts, forklifts, air compressors and generators to be utilized on Bechtel construction project sites around the world. The Construction Equipment Mechanic is responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of vehicles and equipment.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum 3 years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical problems earth moving equipment, man-lifts, forklifts, air compressors, and generators. Equipment brands: Terex, Allmand, CAT, Genie, JCB, Grove, JLG, and Linkbelt.
- Must be able to operate and inspect various types of construction equipment in order to diagnose defects.
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
- Ability to diagnose and repair problems using service manuals.
- Must have experience using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools
- Factory training is a plus
- Demonstrates working knowledge of CANBUS, CAT ET, CUMMINS INSITE, GENIE & JLG systems.
- Possess strong knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures involved in maintenance, repair and replacement of parts.
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
- Perform periodic inspections on the structural components
- Read, understand, and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings
- Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications
- Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision
- Conform to safety requirements, manufacturer procedures, and other regulations
- Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
- Properly complete working reports, hour’s reports, time sheets, hour’s overviews, work orders, and expense reports
- Repair and maintain all sizes of Heavy Equipment.
- Perform diagnosis, repair, and reconditioning of machine systems and components as needed.
- Perform planned maintenance and inspections.
- Operate and test repaired equipment and confirm that specifications are met.
- Ability to read, understand, interpret and apply hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematic diagram information for troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair
- In depth knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- Must be willing to travel, as needed
- Must read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must be able to work (flexible hours) extended hours including nights, overtime, weekends and holidays
- Sets a positive example in punctuality and professional demeanor by respectful communication with all levels of staff, keeping work areas/Field Service Trucks clean & orderly plus promoting safety regulations and all other company programs
- Preferred Qualifications: History of working with different forms of crane equipment such as but not limited to; Grove, American, IHI, Manitowoc, Tadano, , Demag, Liebherr, Link-Belt, Terex, National -- Types: RT, AT, OTR Mobile, Boom truck, Crawler hydraulic and friction, Carry Deck, etc.

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
