Labor Finders is lookingto hire an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic to work with a local Waste and Recycle company in the Paso Robles area.

• Position: Heavy-Duty Mechanic
• Shift: Day shift
• Pay rate: $22-$32 / Hour (DOE)
• Office Location: Paso Robles

Description: Under general supervision of the site supervisor and route driver, the swamper will be assisting the driver with emptying all containers and bins along the routes throughout the shift as well as any duties assigned by driver or site supervisor as needed.

Job Duties:

• Perform In frame overhaul of engines.
• Inspect and repair air intake, coolant systems, mechanical/electrical systems, fuel systems, air systems, steering, suspension, wheels, and tires.
• Rebuild and repair hydraulic/air brakes, air conditioning systems: service and repair of automatic and manual transmissions, universal joints, and differentials.
• Troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic equipment to locate defects in the operation of equipment; have the ability to repair them.
• Preventative maintenance inspections, repairs and overhauls on heavy trucks and other types of heavy equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, air systems, main control valve assembly pumps, and cylinders.
• Make and replace hydraulic lines and hoses, repair or replace bucket assemblies, boom assemblies, and cable-operated assemblies.
• Repair or adjustment of proximity switches or cam-operated air limit valves.
• Replace and adjust tracks, repair hydrostatic transmissions.
• Knowledge to troubleshoot electrical systems and repair lights, starters, alternators, voltage, distributors, electrical, air, windshield wipers, and load test batteries and charging systems.
• Ability to weld and fabricate on dump bodies, boom systems, and general heavy gauge steel bodies.
• Knowledge of the principles of operation of diesel-fueled, compressed natural gas-fueled, and gasoline internal combustion engines.

Requirements:

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Able to work inside and outside in various weather conditions with noise, dust, fumes, gases, oils, and other chemicals.
• Must be dependable with reliable transportation.
• Must report to jobsite on time.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
• Additional screening and/or requirements may apply.
• Must be 18 years or older.
