Join the team! Mid-Michigan Equipment Corporation is now hiring a Heavy-Duty Mechanic’s. Applicants need or will need to have State of Michigan Heavy-Duty

Mechanic or a Heavy-Duty mechanic trainee certificate prior to start.

Job Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains, and services semi-trucks, trailers.
• Diagnoses equipment problems and suggests the needed repairs.
• Performs safety and maintenance checks including Federal Annual Department of Transportation (DOT) Inspections
• Performs all preventative maintenance to equipment per manufacturer and DOT specifications

Certifications & Experience

• Must be a Certified Heavy-Duty Mechanic by the State of Michigan or have a heavy-Duty Mechanic trainee certificate.
• One or more years of Heavy-Duty mechanic experience servicing Heavy-Duty Trucks and Trailers preferred.
• Tank testing (HM232) experience a plus
• Must have own tools to perform daily job tasks and/or willing to purchase.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting a variety of systems including but not limited to heavy-duty fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air-brake systems, drive train, suspension,
• and safety systems preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage time and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of Heavy Truck and equipment safety
• Ability to know or learn to use a computer for diagnosing equipment problems and keeping accurate records.
• Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
