DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Healthy Living Director, this part time position supports the delivery of services in the Health and Wellness Center and assists with the administration of community based health initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Welcome, assist and interact with members and support their fitness and wellness goals.
- Stay informed and promote Y programs being offered.
- Oversee Health & Wellness Center activities and conduct new member orientations. Know and enforce posted safety rules.
- Report member feedback and maintenance needs to the Director.
- Support the implementation of high-quality programming for the Association’s community-based health initiative programs such as LIVESTRONG at the Y, serving cancer survivors, a Parkinson’s fitness program, and a blood pressure self-monitoring program.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of special events.
- Assist with finding funding sources and grant opportunities.
- Manage program inquiries, intake processes, registrations, class enrollments, and instructor and curriculum support.
- Ensure that program standards are met, and safety procedures are followed.
- Assist with data entry, reporting, mailings, phone calls and research as requested.
- Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- HS Diploma
- One to two years related administrative / customer service experience.
- Skilled with Excel, Microsoft and have the ability to learn new software programs.
- Motivated, detail oriented, effective communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current CPR / First Aid certifications.
- Some college coursework completed.
- Personal trainer or group exercise instructor certification, CPR and First Aid certified within first 90 days of employment.
- Experience working with special populations.
