Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented Healthcare Architect & Project Manager to join our growing Healthcare Team. You will be able to work with the best and brightest Architects and Engineers in Central California to positively impact healthcare in our local communities. You will combine your architectural expertise with your project management acumen to manage a variety of healthcare projects including hospitals, clinics, and medical office buildings (MOBs).

Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the planning, design, and execution of healthcare projects, from initial concept to final delivery. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, and maintaining effective communication throughout the project.
  • Architectural Design: Develop creative and functional Architectural Designs that incorporate evidence-based design principles, patient-centered care, and operational efficiency. Create detailed drawings, renderings, and presentations that effectively communicate design intent.
  • Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project outcomes. Utilize project management methodologies to track progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of healthcare regulations, codes, and guidelines to ensure projects meet legal and regulatory requirements, including those specified by California's Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI). Coordinate with relevant authorities and agencies as needed.
  • Staff Management: Direct and mentor assigned project staff, reviewing project-based performance, and supporting their technical career progression. Encourage staff toward licensure and assist through the licensing process.
  • Client Engagement: Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations. Cultivate strong client relationships and ensure their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and quality of architectural documents, drawings, and specifications. Conduct thorough reviews and approvals to meet design and regulatory standards.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Utilize firmwide project management software to track project progress and financials, and generate project reports, progress updates, and documentation as required. Maintain organized project files and records.

Qualifications:

  • California licensed Architect or able to obtain licensure within 12 months of hire
  • Experience managing healthcare projects, preferably those under the jurisdiction of California's Department of Health Care Access and Information (formerly OSHPD):
    • Level I - 3-5 years
    • Level II - 5-8 years
  • 10 or more years of overall architectural experience including experience passing work down to, and directing or managing support staff
  • Strong understanding of healthcare industry regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., FGI Guidelines, HIPAA).
  • Knowledge and experience in healthcare space and equipment planning is preferred.
  • Ability to provide leadership at the project level, guiding and inspiring project teams, fostering collaboration and creativity, and modeling exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to develop and manage client relationships, foster new business opportunities, and navigate difficult client issues.
  • Experience managing project financials include budgeting and work planning, developing contracts, and monitoring financial progress.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Capable of traveling to and from project sites for attending client, project, and construction meetings.
  • Ability to access existing and new project sites for observation, investigation, and evaluation purposes.
  • Proficiency in architectural software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and project management tools.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this role is $40-$52 per hour. Experienced Healthcare Architects, especially those with HCAI experience, may be eligible for an expanded pay scale.

Actual pay will be determined based on licensure, experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Additional pay may be earned through TETER's quarterly bonus program.
