This position plans, develops, and administers the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Program for the Office for Children with Special Health Care Needs (OCSHCN).
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversees operational policies and procedures of the statewide EHDI Program and the EHDI data collection system.
- Defines and evaluates program effectiveness.
- Develops and implements projects for program.
- Coordinates utilization of program information for submission of data to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and develops reports for legislative review and other entities as requested.
- Serves as Project Director for EHDI federal grants and completes all associated tasks and duties.
- Participates in development and evaluation of budget/grant submissions, and recommends solutions and revisions to meet targeted outcomes.
- Advises administration on financial issues.
- Reviews reports submitted by reporting entities (hospitals, birthing centers, audiologists, and other providers) to identify program deviation issues, and recommends solutions.
- Develops and implements changes to improve program efficiency within budgetary guidelines.
- Contacts reporting entities to secure required information in accordance with policy.
- Provides supervision of program staff.
- Evaluates staff performance and coaches staff in the performance of their job duties.
- Participates in selection of candidates to fill vacant positions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
- Experience with grants, including but not limited to, the submission of applications, developing, directing, and reporting on activities, and budget management.
- Demonstrates flexibility and critical thinking.
- Ability to multi-task and delegate.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and time management and organizational skills are necessary.
- Experience in performance and operations management.
- Proficient in MS Office.
