JOB SUMMARY:
Corby Energy Services, Inc., ("CES") is looking for a Health and Safety (HSE) Intern to join our team! The HSE Intern will assist the HSE Senior Manager in planning, implementing and supervising worksite safety, and assure all programs are in compliance with company, federal, state, and local standards. Approximately 65% of work time will be spent in the field conducting inspections, crew visits, subcontractor visits, etc. Work is in a fast-paced environment serving utility and municipal clients’ construction and maintenance needs. The purpose of the internship is to provide the student with supervised practice at the worksite and in the continuing daily work of the safety professional.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist in the development and implementation of safety and health communication and awareness measures involving training presentations, flyers, posters, signage, and other communication and training materials
· Conduct inspections and monitoring to help evaluate HSE performance, identify corrective actions, and confirm compliance with company’s environmental Health and Safety policies and programs for strict compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
· Participates in meetings, as required, with customers, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of safety and health requirements
· Additional job duties may be added based on need.
REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or other safety-related degree
· Basic knowledge of safety standards such as: MIOSHA, OSHA and DOTstandards
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and similar products
· Valid Driver’s License (with a satisfactory driving record – MVR check will be conducted prior to hire)
· Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
· Solid leadership, organizational, and time management skills – must be a self-starter and self-motivated
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
COMPENSATION:
· Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
